Salman – You apply for your visa using the occupation you have had your qualifications accredited for by Engineers Australia. Gas processing or petroleum engineering are within the broader group of occupations within chemical engineering.

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am Salman 24 years old. I have 4 years BSc Petroleum Engineering & Management degree from Azerbaijan and two years full time working experience as a Gas Processing Engineer in Pakistan . I have received successfully positive assessment from EA .

1) My question is am I eligible to I apply under 2129-17 Chemical Engineer occupation for Priority processing? Because I have been employed in Chemical Company as a Gas processing engineer and my qualification i.e. petroleum engineering is closely related to Chemical industry.

Anil – It could take 3 years according to DIAC. There is no path to change your current application.

I would like to know about my application where is now. i had lodged my file with IELTS in 23rd february 2009. That time my occupation was in CSL & MODL but now in only MODL. Could i get priority as a CSL or MODL. When i can expect case officer to alocated my file.

Thomas – I know nothing more than what is given in the article you have read. An experienced migration agent should be able to give you some idea. I would assume the times given in the announcement are total times from lodging an application to issuing of a visa.

Hi,
I am a regular visitor to this site for all the useful information available.
Can you tell me how long it takes once the visa processing is allotted to a case officer and all the required health & police checks are submitted. This is for a skilled migration visa in critical skill list and no territory sponsorship.
